Dr. Ver Reyes

             Ver Reyes is the first transwoman president of the Psychological Association of the Philippines – the first to hold such distinction of leading a psychological society in the world. She was previously the Association’s Internal Relations Officer (from 2022-2023) and chaired the Teaching Psychology Special Interest Group (from 2016-2022). A licensed psychologist and psychometrician, Dr. Reyes was the former Head of the Psychology program and currently the Dean of the Graduate School at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. Various universities, the media, and other organizations have invited her to conduct seminar-workshops and interviews to share her insights on teaching, online learning, doing research, and other topics such as SOGIESC-LGBT, mental health, and well-being among others. She earned her Ph.D in Social Development from the Philippine Women's University’s School of Social Work while her Master and Baccalaureate degrees in Psychology are from the Ateneo de Manila University. Her research interests are in the fields of teaching, positive psychology and mental health, political, and peace psychology, as well as LGBT and social psychology.
